In Penny's Basket

This is the basket that I keep at my desk while I work to help contain my cat, Penny.  Without the basket, she walks around the desk rubbing my hands while I type and knocks things off to get my attention.  With the basket, she climbs in and lets me pet her at my discretion until she finally gives in and just goes to sleep.  So needless to say, the basket is a must if I plan on actually getting any work done at my desk.  I realized it serves a second purpose of containing an adventurous hamster while I work (obviously only if Penny is sleeping elsewhere).  Clearly this basket keeps me sane and productive.  :)

Working at my Desk

Tarcil decided that today he wanted to help me with my work while I was at my desk.  I let him stay with me for a while, but then I realized he was too distracting, and I wasn't actually working... haha.  :)

My Purse

Tarcil loves being with me!  He thought he could sneak into my purse to go with me, but he has to stay home where it's warm.  It's a big, cold world out there for such a little guy, even if he is fluffy.  :)

My Tote Bag

This adorable tote with veggies embroidered on it was made by my amazingly talented cousin, Aimee Ray!  She is a wonderful artist and has quite a few published books!  She gave this to me as a wedding present, and I have been using it to organize and transport my papers back and forth from home to my church where I work part time.  Tarcil apparently wants to come with me to work today.  :)

You can check out Aimee's artwork at aimeeray.com, follow her blog at www.littledeartracks.blogspot.com , and buy original art at www.littledear.etsy.com.  This particular pattern on the tote came from her book: Doodle Stitching: The Motif Collection which can be found on Amazon.  You really should check out her stuff... it's amazing and adorable!  :)

My Favorite Blanket

This quilt is probably one of the best Christmas presents I have ever gotten!!!  I absolutely love blankets in general, and there is nothing that can beat a beautiful quilt like this one!!  Seriously, this quilt is so beautiful that I was nervous of even using it when I first got it.  I just wanted to look at it.  Haha.  I have had it for over a year now and decided that despite its beauty, it serves a wonderful purpose which I also love.  Recently, I have been spending about an hour each evening cuddled under this quilt while I read a book.  There is something so relaxing to the point of melting away stress when I spend my evenings like this.  And of course spending time with Tarcil is always so much fun!  :)

This quilt was made by my Aunt Harriet.  :)  Maybe someday I'll have her teach me how to make quilts because I am seriously in love!  :)

Happy Birthday Joe!

Today is my husband's birthday!!!   I love celebrating birthdays!!  I think my favorite part is making special food.   I love making cake, pie, cookies, or whatever is the favorite!  This year, Joe asked for me to make him a spice cake with cream cheese frosting.   We decided to wait until Friday to have cake so that we can share it with some friends that we have coming over.   It sounds so yummy; I can't wait to make it and eat it!!

To Joe:

Tarcil and I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday!  Oh, and Tarcil wanted to apologize for that one time when he bit your ear...  He wants you to know that he definitely still loves you.   :)   And of course I love you so very much too!! :)

Bubbles!

Today I am photographing a wedding!  I love weddings!!  I was reminded of my own wedding and how awesome it was!  I decided to look at some of the leftovers that are still hanging around my house from my wedding.  It didn't take me long to find the bubbles!!  I decided Tarcil would probably enjoy playing in the bubbles.  Don't worry; I kept all the containers closed.  :)
