Toy Box

We've had a snowy weekend, but it wasn't much and it's almost all melted.  My husband had lots of extra work to do this weekend, so I spent more time reading, cleaning up the house, and playing with the pets than I might have otherwise.

I bought some simple toys a while ago to keep at our house for when there are kids here.  It has helped me have so much more peace of mind whenever young kids are over since our house isn't the most kid friendly.  I have all the toys contained to this one box.  Laurelin wasn't sure why she was on the box, but she still looks so happy.

After Tarmund ate his little walnut, he searched and searched for more walnuts, but couldn't find any more on this toy box.

Da Vinci's DIY Kit by National Geographic

I haven't always been the best gift giver, especially when it comes to my husband.  I tend to give practical gifts because those are the type of gifts that I want to get for myself.  However, my husband appreciates practical gifts the way that I do.  Anyways, for Christmas, I decided to get him this trio of weapons.  He really enjoyed putting them together (which was super easy), and he loves that they really work quite well!

Laurelin wanted to chew on them since they are made of wood, but when they didn't taste good to her, she lost interest in them.

Tarmund wasn't even the slightest bit interested in them and I'm surprised I got any pictures of him next to them because he kept wandering away.

LotR Pillows

I think anyone following me for very long knows that my husband and I are pretty obsessed with The Lord of the Rings and anything else from Tolkien.  We named all our pets (except for Kira) after people or things from Tolkien's works.  My brother and sister-in-law had these cushions made for us for Christmas and we LOVE them!  The downside is that now I'm thinking about ways to make all of the cushions more nerdy.  😁  By the way, you can check out the creator of these cushions by going to: https://www.facebook.com/SewWingsThings-137541996742848/

Laurelin didn't really seem too interested in having her pictures taken and most of the ones I did get, she was blocking the words.  So this is the only good one.

Tarmund on the other hand was hamming it up for the camera!  😂  He is so tiny and sweet!

Sack

All the Christmas decorations were put away on the first of the new year.  I had intended to leave them out a bit longer, but the cats were messing with the tree and ornaments too much, so for the sake of the many breakable ornaments, I decided it was time to be stored again until next Christmas.

Laurelin is definitely showing signs of getting older.  It makes me sad because I haven't had her for very long yet, but on the paperwork when I got her last June, they said she was 8 months old.  I wish I knew more about her history.  But no matter how old she is or what happened in her past that lead to her being at the ACC, I'll love and spoil her for the rest of her life.  😊

Tarmund has also shown some signs of aging too, but for him, it is mostly that he isn't quite as crazy as he used to be.  😂  Seriously, I am regularly surprised at how calm and sweet this little guy is!
