Whimzees

While life is slowly starting to feel more normal to me, I acknowledge that it is due to new habits finally being accepted and to some old habits slowly being reintroduced.  I do like this balance, but I am also always striving to be comfortable with being flexible and not always in control.   I think this year proves that I have grown a lot in those ways, even to the extent of appreciating that even though the last few months have been rough at times, it certainly wasn't boring!  😄

These are Whimzees which are actually dog treats, but they are safe for hamsters and the hams love them!  Laurelin immediately shoved hers as far into her cheek as she could, which as you can see, there was still quite a bit hanging out.  She finally quit struggling to get in all the way in and just accepted that it didn't fit.  She walked around with her mouth open and the end of the whimzee sticking out.  It was SO funny!  😂

Tarmund was excited about the whimzee, but then decided exploring the chair would be more fun.  The last picture isn't in perfect focus, but I'm obsessed with how cute he is when he stands up.  😍

Fili (first picture) and Kili (second picture) are still a bit unsure about Whimzees.  They thought exploring the chair was the best thing ever though.  They did enjoy their treats when they were back in their home.  😊

New End Tables

This is one of our new end tables we bought to match our new bookshelf.  I love them!  They are smaller than what we had, but because they have shelves, they still hold everything I had on the old ones.  The open design really aids in making our living room feel so much bigger.  They are perfect!  We actually bought the coffee table that is part of this set as well.  Unfortunately, it isn't in stock, and we have no idea when we'll actually get it.

Laurelin checked out the end table and felt that it was put together well.  She gave her approval.  :)

Tarmund seemed more interested in the stuff on the new end table than the end table itself.  Hahaha!

Fili and Kili wanted to run around, and didn't seem to like how small the end table is.  They kept circling around and checking out the edges.

New Bookshelf

A few months ago, the bookshelf that we had under our TV started leaning to one side and became very wobbly.  The cats seemed to think it was even more fun to jump onto since it moved.  I was so sure that I'd hear a loud crash and see books spilled everywhere because the poor bookshelf couldn't handle the weight anymore.  Thankfully, before that scenario happened, we bought a new bookshelf.  My husband picked it out and I did really like it, but I felt that it wouldn't match the decor of the living room.  Since we couldn't find a different shelf we liked as much, we decided that it was time to also replace our mismatched end tables to buy new matching ones.  Everything arrived much faster than we expected, and we are enjoying the new cohesive look to our living room!

Laurelin is happy to pose whenever treats are involved.

I made sure that Tarmund's favorite treat would be available so that he wouldn't run off right away.  It clearly worked.  :)

Kili always likes to eat his treats right away.  Fili always likes to pouch his and then try to grab his brothers treat.  Hahaha!

Peter Rabbit Mug

These two precious boys came into my life at just the right time!  They bring SO much joy and fun!  It makes my heart so full and happy that they get along so well!  I know that could still change, but for now, I really adore seeing them together and happy ALL the time!  These pictures are from the first weekend after I brought them home.  I can't believe I've already had them for over 6 weeks!

Roses

I finally took more pictures yesterday of all the hams!  I had to start by getting pictures with this gorgeous bouquet of roses that my husband bought for me last week.  I know he's been getting frustrated with not being able to do what he wants to do since he broke his leg and had surgery.  He's been so uncomfortable in the leg immobilizer and is anxious to get the staples out.  At night, he switches between a recliner, the couch, and our bed, only sleeping for a couple hours at a time before he's gotta get up and move.  I'm a fairly light sleeper, so even though I don't have to get out of bed anymore to help him move, I still wake up when he's up moving.  In other words, the last 3 weeks have been a struggle for both of us.  But last week, when I was returning my parents' van to them after borrowing it for our 4th trip to Indy, Joe ordered these flowers for me.  He's seriously amazing, and I am SO blessed to be married to him!  ❤

Laurelin didn't seem to know what to do.  I think she was afraid that if she moved around too much, she'd fall off this tiny stool.  She is such a giant compared to my little dwarf hamsters.  Haha!  😄

Tarmund seemed to like sniffing the flowers.  I didn't get a good picture of him actually sniffing them, so you'll just have to take my word that he did it and it was really cute!  😊

Fili and Kili kinda seemed interested in the flowers, but seemed more interested in not looking at the camera at the same time.  😂
