Big Boy!

When I look back at pictures of Tarcil from shortly after I first got him, I realized what a big boy he is now!  He used to be so tiny!  I mean, look at him!  His body and face have lengthened and of course he got fatter.  Haha.  :)

Here is what he used to look like if you don't remember.  Look at that squished little face!!  :)

I Don't Want to Look!

Tarcil's hair is always a sight to see when he first gets out of bed!  I think he was too embarrassed to look.  Hahahaha!  I don't think he needs to worry because we all think he is still super cute no matter what his hair looks like!  :)

Simple Crochet Flowers

I am really loving how easy it is to crochet!  I made these simple flowers that are so versatile!  I am sticking with simple, fast projects that are all one color and flat for now.  Eventually after more practice, I will try more colors and doing the cute stuffed animals.  I like that I can be productive while still relaxing in the evenings with my husband with these little projects!  I am sure you will see lots more of these yarn projects!  Tarcil really seemed to like these little flowers.  :)

Making a Headband

I made this headband!  It went really quickly!  I did kinda mess it up (accidentally reduced the number of stitches per row at some point while making it), but you can't tell unless you are looking for it.  I made a matching one for my sister.  I think Tarcil wants me to make one for him, but I don't think I could make one small enough for his tiny head.  :)

Learning to Crochet

I taught myself how to knit over Thanksgiving break last year, and ever since then, I have been wanting to learn how to crochet.  So I went back to YouTube and learned how to crochet.  To be honest, I love crocheting better than knitting!  It is so much faster and more intuitive to me.  This square is the first piece I did!  So easy!  Tarcil liked seeing my work.  :)

Cute Poser

From the time I first brought Tarcil home about a year and a half ago until today, I have taken literally thousands of pictures of Tarcil.  As a professional photographer, I am a harsh critic of my own work.  I would say that I like most of the pictures I post, but I rarely love them.  Well, I LOVE these pictures!  I love the colors and the textures, but most importantly, I love the way Tarcil posed!  Tarcil was so alert and curious when I was taking his pictures and the results are beautiful!  I could stare at that adorable little face all day!  I hope that you enjoy these as much as I do!  And if you do love these pictures, you can find them in this gallery where you can purchase copies to enjoy at your own home.  :)  Thank you all for your support!  I truly appreciate all of your kind words!  And I hope that I am able to brighten your day with my photographs.  :)

Tarcil's Escape!!

So my worst nightmare happened!  TARCIL ESCAPED!!!  I put Tarcil in his ball while I was cleaning his cage.  I could hear him rolling around the house and for about 10 minutes I left him alone.  When I was finished the work, I started walking through the house to see where Tarcil rolled away to.  I went out to the kitchen where I found his ball and it was empty!  All I could think about was that my Tarcil is gone!

I panicked!  My mind was racing!  I couldn't decide where to start looking or if I should set treats out.  I thought about maybe locking up my cat, Penny, but I didn't even know where would be a safe place to lock her up since I didn't know where Tarcil was.  In the midst of my head spinning to come up with a plan, I realized that I was hearing a peculiar noise and it wasn't my heart pounding.  I held my breath, quieted my thoughts, and listened.  Yep.  I knew that sound.  I have heard it before.  It's the sound a rodent makes when gnawing on something.  While I was still stood frozen in the kitchen, I took a deep breath and focused on the noise.  I could tell it was nearby.  I searched the ground and there I spotted my Tarcil!  He really hadn't gone very far at all.  What a silly little hammy!

Now, for those interested, this is actually a true story and it just happened a couple weeks ago!  I decided to wait to share the story until a more appropriate time, such as April Fools Day!  Haha!  I hope I didn't scare any of you too much!  I "recreated" the scene to get these pictures and Tarcil was supervised the whole time.  :)  Also, for those curious, Penny was lounging in the bedroom.  She didn't care that Tarcil was running through the house in (and out of) his ball.  I think she likes him too much to do him any harm.  Either that or she is incredibly lazy.  Haha!  :)
