Gondor

Day 12

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

This is the final day of Tarcil's costumes.  Once again, I wanted to represent Lord of the Rings, and I thought that this was a good way to do that.  I also wanted to specifically represent Gondor.  For those of you who have read everything up to this point, you already know the connection.  And for those who missed my post from when I named Tarcil, I will give you a quick summary.  Tarcil was a descendant of Isildur and the king of Arnor.  It means "High Man" and was used as a nickname to Aragorn.  :)

Due to the amount of details in this costume, I painted the design on the felt.  I kept putting it off because I didn't think I could do it well, but I was able to find an unbelievably tiny brush which made this possible.

If you are wondering what is in the background of this picture, it is my three LOTR books with a set of Nazgul in front of them.  The Nazgul came from a board game that my husband recently bought.  We still haven't had a chance to play it so I can't give a review of it yet.  :)

I seriously can't get enough of that cute face and little nose!  I hope you have enjoyed looking through the costumes I made for Tarcil!  And I hope you have a safe and fun Halloween!  :)

Rohan

Day 11

This is my second to last costume in this project and I couldn't help but throw in at least one Lord of the Rings reference.  :)  I decided that I wanted to make one that resembled the flag and the shield of Rohan.  Therefore, this costume was much different than the others because of the amount of details that needed to be in it.  I knew that cutting everything out of the felt would not work.  I spent some time thinking about how to make this work when I finally thought of using paint.  I am not much of a painter so I wasn't sure if I could make this look good enough to be recognizable.  I think it turned out really well, but I guess you all would have to be the judges of that.  :)

Tomorrow is Halloween!  Make sure you check out Tarcil's final costume!!

Day 10

I think my costumes just got better and much cuter!  During the first few pictures I took, I was able to get Tarcil to wear his hat.  Unfortunately, it fell off a couple times, and then after that I couldn't get him to keep it on.  But I didn't mind because I thought it was cute how messy his hair was from wearing a hat.  :)

If you look closely at that last picture, you will see that Tarcil has his mouth open!  He was licking his face when I was taking these pictures.  What a cutie!!  :)

Luigi

Day 9

This was a really fun photo shoot!  I really enjoyed making the costume and the tunnel.  I had originally thought of doing Mario, but I was running out of red so I decided to go green instead.  :)

I thought it was cute when Tarcil stopped exploring to clean his little face!  :)

Captain America

Day 8

So I know that I already said that Superman is my favorite superhero... but I think I might have already changed my mind!  If nothing else, this has been my favorite costume so far.  I think the shield is what makes this costume the best.  :)

I love Captain America and everything that he stands for!

Tarcil Stuffed his Face

I am taking today off from doing the costumes because I had to spend time cleaning his cage today.  After I was done, I feed Tarcil a little more than I normally do because I was wanted to make sure that he was definitely getting enough to eat.  He proceeded to stuff his face so full that he could barely walk.  It was hilarious!!
Tarcil looks like a figure "8"

LOOK AT THAT FACE!!

Superman

Day 7

Superman is probably my favorite superhero - at least at the moment.  :)  I tend to change my mind a lot of these types of things.  My current favorite is often dependent on the newest movie.  :)

Stay tuned for my next costume on Monday!!

Batman

Day 6

Batman!!  I love Batman and everything he is capable of.  I like that he wasn't necessarily born a hero, but he chose to become one when he saw the need for one.  Obviously his immense riches helped him to become what he is.  :)

Mr. Incredible

Day 5

I am so glad this idea popped into my head!  This was not one of the original ideas I had.  I thought of this while make another one.  Tarcil seems to make all of these costumes look really good.  He has been so good while I take pictures of him!  He doesn't seem nearly as scared of the camera as he used to be.  :)

Spider-man

Day 4

I am a fan of Spider-man even though I really don't like spiders.  Making the spider for this costume was actually fairly difficult for me.  I ended up making it much bigger than I originally planned on because it is hard to make detailed cuts in felt.

Green Lantern

Day 3

This is one of the costumes I did for my husband.  I knew that he would appreciate it and it was so simple to make!  I think Tarcil looks really good in green.  :)

He is so cute!
